Siena College of Future Biotechnology of Nantong University unveiled

On 10th September, Siena College of Future Biotechnology of Nantong University was unveiled at the Seyuan Campus of Nantong University. The college is a Sino-foreign cooperatively-run school jointly established by Nantong University and the University of Siena in Italy.

Siena College of Future Biotechnology of Nantong University set up three undergraduate majors for the first batch: Mathematics and Applied mathematics, Biotechnology, and Automation, adopting ‘4+0’ training mode. Enrollment will start this year. It will be included in the national general higher education enrollment plan. After the students are admitted, they will be registered at both Nantong University and the University of Siena. After they pass the courses and meet the corresponding requirements, they can get the degree certificates from both schools.

Tiziana D'Angelo, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, who came to attend the event specially, said that many places in Italy had started communication and cooperation with Nantong in economic and other aspects very early on. She hoped that Siena and Nantong could cooperate and achieve mutual benefits in more fields.
