‘I woke up at 3 am for preparation, and went to Tiananmen Square around 6 am. Standing in front of the Tiananmen, looking at the magnificent scenery in the morning light, my heart surged with excitement.’ On 3rd September, Cheng Fuqiang, the Nantong overseas Chinese leader who was invited to watch the military parade, the Executive President of Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and hometown association in the United Arab Emirates, said.
‘I have lived overseas for more than 30 years, but our roots will always be in China. As an overseas Chinese, the strength of our country is our strongest support.’ Cheng Fuqiang said.
