On 26th August, the new offshore floating liquefied natural gas facility independently researched, developed and built with the largest tonnage and gas storage capacity in China ——NGUYA FLNG (floating liquefied natural gas facility) set out from Qidong, Nantong.

NGUYA FLNG was jointly built by Wison New Energies and Eni from Italy. Its length overall is 376 m. The moulded breadth is 60 m and the moulded depth is 35 m. The annual LNG production capacity can reach 2.4 million tons. It will be placed offshore near Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo.

As a ‘powerful tool’ for developing offshore natural gas resources, FLNG is hailed as the ‘new jewel in the crown’ of the shipbuilding and offshore engineering industry. Wison New Energies is the only present enterprise in China that has the capability to undertake FLNG contracting and has records of delivery. The project only took 33 months from the signing of the contract to the launch of the facility.

Shipbuilding and offshore engineering is an industrial landmark and urban business card of Nantong. A batch of domestic and foreign leading enterprises including Wison have gathered here. A 24,000-TEU container ship, a polar expedition ship, an intelligent FPSO, etc. have been built and delivered.
