Hai’an rice and Hai’an egg shortlisted

The 2024 second batch of National Famous, Special, Excellent, and New Agricultural Products List published

A few days ago, Center of Agro-Product Safety and Quality, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs published the 2024 second batch of National Famous, Special, Excellent, and New Agricultural Products List. 2 Nantong agricultural products were shortlisted, which are Hai’an rice and Hai’an egg.

‘Hai’an rice’ is a Geographical Indication Certification Trademark. The rice grains of ‘Hai’an rice’ are full and plump, with an oval shape. After cooking, the grains remain intact, exuding a rich aroma, with a glossy appearance. The texture is soft, chewy, firm, and crispy.

Hai’an is the famous hometown of poultry and eggs. It has a long history and a unique production method in layer chicken farming. Its unique climate conditions are suitable for producing Hai’an egg with high calcium and vitamin D content.
