　　甲骨文“教”从攴（pū）、从爻、从子。“攴”像手持教鞭训教之形，爻是声符（或以为是学习的内容，像算筹之形），子是教育的对象。本义是教育。字形有时会省略“子”这一部件。卜辞中用作人名和地名。
