!!Thisclichéalludestoinventingasimplewheelfromscratch,butthewheelisalreadycircularthatrequiresnoimprovementinthatform.ItmostlikelyoriginatedinbusinessandindustryinUSAinthe1970s,urgingtheiremployeestopayattentiontowhatothershadinventedandtoinnovateuponthem,ratherthanrecreatingthemfromscratch.這個陳詞濫調暗指從頭開始發明一個簡單的輪子，但輪子已經是圓形的，不需要對這形狀進行改進。它很可能起源於1970年代美國的商業和工業，敦促他們的員工關注他人的發明並對其進行創新，而不是從頭開始重新創造。
